Franco Baresi, the AC Milan honorary Vice President, spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of the Milan-Monza match, the 16th round of the 2023-2024 Serie A. Here are his statements.
"It's a special match because of what Berlusconi represented. A president who cannot be replicated, but today will be a good game."
He added:
"I believe he (Berlusconi) was always very ambitious, always demanding the best. We must look ahead, we have other goals. He aimed high, he did it even with Monza. Today's game is crucial because we need to gain points and not lose them, in addition to solidifying our position."
On the future of the clubs, Baresi said:
"Everything is possible, Milan has a great history. We know that interests are different, greater, but we have a history in our football, we can create problems for everyone. We'll have to be smart in spending wisely."
About Zlatan Ibrahimovic:
"We know what kind of person Ibra is, his mindset is winning. He's an added value, I don't need to give him advice."
On the absence of Italians in the squad, Baresi commented:
"Many new players have arrived, we tried for some Italians, but we know how it went in the market. We've had many Italian players, but our club always considers everything."
