Serhou Guirassy remains the number one target for Milan's offensive department. The Guinean center-forward, currently playing for Stuttgart, has been impressive this season, already scoring 19 goals and providing 2 assists in 16 appearances across all competitions. His performances have attracted the attention of major European clubs, including Newcastle, Manchester United, and Borussia Dortmund.
The Rossoneri, however, have no intention of giving up on acquiring him. They aim to secure a new striker in this winter transfer window to complement Olivier Giroud and Luka Jovic, someone who, as proven in Germany, possesses remarkable composure in front of goal and a significant goal-scoring record.
In recent weeks, Milan has started the negotiations with the player's entourage, who have shown willingness towards a move to Milan. Yet, there are at least two obstacles to overcome before finalizing the deal.
Firstly, there's the clear intention of the German club, currently in a battle for qualification in the upcoming Champions League. This intent is evident from the words of CEO Alexander Wehrle: "He feels comfortable here with his family and has an important role in the team. He really appreciates it. His main interest is playing football and scoring goals. Serhou wants to play for a functioning team. In our talks, he emphasizes feeling very comfortable at Stuttgart."
These statements reveal the Germans' desire to keep their striker until June (which would also give him a chance for the Golden Boot, if possible, depending on Kane), postponing any transfer discussions until the summer transfer window.
Additionally, Stuttgart has attempted to remove the 17 million euros release clause, a request dismissed by Guirassy's agents.
In recent days, discussions between Milan and Guirassy haven't led to an agreement regarding the player's salary in Milan. While the player is inclined towards the transfer, the financial terms have not been settled. Positive talks have taken place, but the requested salary is noteworthy: 4 million euros net per season.
These figures are significant for a player showcasing high-level performances domestically. It's a phase of evaluation for Milan's transfer strategists, yet Serhou Guirassy remains their primary target for the Rossoneri's attack.
