AC Milan are in a crisis regarding the defensive area. The centre-backs Malick Thiaw, Fikayo Tomori, and Pierre Kalulu are sidelined due to injuries. Therefore, it is necessary for the club to try to strengthen Stefano Pioli's team.
A player on the club's radar, reportedly, is Merih Demiral. This season, the Turkish player who is playing for Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, has made seven appearances. He scored one goal and provided one assist. The 25-year-old was sidelined for two and a half months due to a serious injury.
According to reports from Tuttomercatoweb.com, Demiral is on Milan's shortlist for January. He is now also being closely followed by Napoli.
Demiral, however, earns quite the high salary in Saudi Arabia, and with the Growth Decree's exemption, this trail has become even more complicated.
Without the chance for a tax break, bringing players with such hefty salaries back to Serie A will be extremely complicated, if not impossible, despite concrete contacts with Milan.
