Roma will face AC Milan at the San Siro on January 14, and they will do so without the presence of coach José Mourinho on the bench.
The Portuguese coach was expelled towards the end of the match against Atalanta (which ended in a 1-1 draw). Therefore, there is at least a one-match suspension.
Mourinho was mainly caught by the fourth official in a passionate protest over a foul called on Romelu Lukaku, who was launched vertically into a physical duel with Isak Hien. For the former Manchester United coach, it was a foul in favour of his centre forward.
Referee Aureliano allowed the subsequent action to finish on the field and then, prompted by the fourth official, headed towards Roma's bench and showed red card for Mourinho, who initially even pretended as if nothing happened before being urged to leave the Olimpico pitch, as pointed out by Calciomercato.com.
