AC Milan remains active in the market. After recalling Matteo Gabbia and essentially replacing Rade Krunic (who went to Fenerbahce) with Filippo Terracciano, the Rossoneri are still looking for a central defender who can help fill the gap left in the defense due to the several injuries.
Tuttosport in this morning's print edition wrote the following headline:
"Brassier better than Kouassi but Brest wants 12 million."
Lilian Brassier, the 24-year-old French defender of Ligue 1 side Brest, currently seems to be the favourite over Tanguy Nianzou Kouassi, born in 2002 from Sevilla with a past at Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
Brassier is left-footed and would better fit Pioli's ideas. The player has already reportedly said yes to the Rossoneri's advances. The issue lies in resolving matters with the French club, which is demanding 12 million euros, while AC Milan does not want to exceed the threshold of 7 or 8 million euros.
To secure Kouassi's signature, the path would be simpler: Sevilla is open to a loan with an option to buy.
