In the coming days, with the approach of European competitions and the conclusion of the transfer market, Stefano Pioli will have to take the final decision regarding the UEFA list for Europa League matches.
Tuttosport did shed light on the matter and spoke about Gabbia's desire to be included and wrote the following headline:
"Gabbia asks Pioli for a place in the UEFA list."
AC Milan will be able to make three changes compared to the list submitted at the beginning of the year. However, one is already decided: Ismael Bennacer will take the place of Rade Krunic, who has moved to Fenerbahçe.
For the other two slots, though, the contenders are Matteo Gabbia, who returned from loan to Villarreal and immediately had a positive impact in the match against Roma with Lukaku, and Filippo Terracciano, a new acquisition from Hellas Verona. But, another contender could be the potential new central defender that Pioli would like.
