The initial investigations into what happened in Udine on Saturday evening, with Maignan being a victim of racist insults, have already yielded results.
Udinese itself has reported that a first fan has been identified and banned for life from the stadium.
Today, La Gazzetta dello Sport spoke about the matter and published this headline:
"Insults to Maignan. The first culprit is found. Udinese: never again here."
Thanks to the work of the authorities, a 46-year-old man living in the Province of Udine has been identified. In a video he sent to friends, boasting about it, he allegedly shouted the epithet "n...ro di me..da" twelve times at Maignan after Lazar Samrdzic's goal.
The man has been identified and banned for 5 years, although the Friulian club has intensified the consequences by stating in a release that the so-called fan will never set foot in the stadium again.
