Igli Tare spoke on TV Play about the years spent as the sporting director of Lazio, particularly addressing the situation with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Much has been said about it, and there is an interesting statement regarding Milan's attempt to sign the midfielder.
Here are his words:
"Many untrue things have been said about Milinkovic-Savic, from his departure on a free transfer to the claim that he didn't want to stay. The only true aspect is that Lotito rejected a very significant offer, over 100 million euros, from both Milan and Manchester United. I don't want to go into details about the failed sale, even though there were financial considerations. Lotito's choices were to maintain a strong team and uphold the promises made to the coach. Let's not forget that in the year of Covid, Lazio was on the verge of winning the league title."
