In today's print edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, there are confirmations about AC Milan's willingness to extend the contract of their French goalkeeper Mike Maignan until the summer of 2028.
The former Lille champion, however, would like to be on par with Leao. He will reportedly ask for a salary similar to the Portuguese left-winger's: 7 million euros net per season (he currently earns 3.2 million euros).
The extension would give additional strength to the club even in the event of a hypothetical offer from Bayern Munich or Paris Saint Germain. Financial sustainability requires some sacrifices, as long as it is well rewarded and allows the club to reinvest the proceeds in an attempt to make the team more competitive. Today, one of the strengths is Maignan's saves, which is why Milan is not giving up on his contract renewal.
