Luca Momblano, a well-known journalist, made some statements granted to TeleLombardia, focusing on Antonio Conte and Julen Lopetegui, who are both candidates, according to reports, to replace Pioli in the new season.
Here are his words:
On Antonio Conte:

"What I can say about Conte-Barcelona is that if Barça has received Conte's proposal and made it public, it's not a good sign. When news comes out that a coach is offering himself, it's never a good look. There are still 4 months left until the end of the season, so whether this has happened or not, I don't exclude it and I don't know anything about it. What I can exclude is that Conte is playing a double game, absolutely. It's not in his character, style, or nature. If Conte proposed himself to Barcelona yesterday, it means that the agreement with Milan is not something he feels bound to yet. However, I can't reconcile these two truths: they can't be true at the same time. In the geography of international benches, Barcelona is one of the 4 or 5 benches Conte could aspire to, given his great energy and reputation. This is true, but it seems to me like his name was thrown out there and tossed in: I don't think he offered himself to the Blaugrana."
On Julen Lopetegui:
"Everyone is very bored, but it must be said that Lopetegui sat down to talk with the Milan executives at the beginning of last week. As far as I know, they will decide, but rightly so, they are moving because it's their job. Everyone at the top is thinking about life after Pioli. The news about Lopetegui is true, but it's a completely different story from Conte's news. If Moncada chooses the coach, it won't be Conte. If instead it's chosen by Redbird (and therefore Cardinale and Ibra), the only work that has been done is on Conte."
