La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper, in this morning's print edition, discussed the awaited challenge between AC Milan and French outfit Rennes in the Europa League round of 32.
The Italian publication shared the following headline:
"Cardinale will be there. The owner in the stands tomorrow."
The RedBird Capital Partners top brass wants to support his team tomorrow as he would like to see a push for the European trophy which is missing from the club's trophy cabinet.
Milan finds itself likely out of the race for the Scudetto, in which now only Inter seems to remain, and at the same time has a good advantage over fifth place. In addition, there are no more Champions League or Coppa Italia matches to focus on. That is why the big target for this season is precisely the Europa League, which no Italian team - since it has been called that, since 2009 - has ever won.
Cardinale's presence at the stadium tomorrow is a testament to how important this competition is for the AC Milan club.
