The goalkeeper of Rennes, the very experienced Steve Mandanda, spoke to the media in a press conference ahead of the match against AC Milan at the San Siro tomorrow. Here are his words:
Have you heard from Mike Maignan? Is he, in your opinion, the strongest goalkeeper in the world?
"I think I'll hear from him tonight, I get along very well with Mike, I appreciate him a lot, both as a person and as a goalkeeper. He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world: he's complete, in goal, in reading the game, in playing with his feet, he's one of the best for me."
And then you also know Theo Hernandez and Olivier Giroud very well:
"I know them, Mike as well as Theo and Olivier... But my teammates also know them. We've prepared with videos, we know what to expect: we have to be careful with all the Milan players because they are all players of great quality."
On San Siro:
"I've played here twice, once against Milan and once against Inter. It's a legendary stadium and it's always a joy to play matches like this. I hope tomorrow it can have a positive outcome."
On his role as a leader as captain, Mandanda said:
"It's a different and special game, we're going to face a team with an incredible history and in a legendary stadium with a squad of great quality. We're not afraid, we're not timid, we're happy to play a match like this: any player dreams of playing matches like this in stadiums like this. My role? It is also to interact with other players. The worst thing would be to leave with regrets, the important thing is to enjoy these moments and give our best."
