Gerry Cardinale, the head of RedBird and owner of Milan, has given a lengthy interview to 'Il Corriere della Sera'.

Here are his statements:

On the trip to Dubai:

"I have an office in Dubai, one in Abu Dhabi, and I am opening one in Riyadh. RedBird has many interests in these countries."

On the rumours of sale:

"I want to be clear: it is completely false. I am here for the long term, I have work to do. I am committed to bringing Milan back to the top of Serie A and Europe, and I will not stop until I achieve these results. And when we achieve them, I will want to achieve them again."

On the stadium:

"I am very satisfied with the progress we are making, quite a lot in 18 months, to build the first new stadium in Italy since 2011, with 70,000 seats. Reconsidering San Siro? I don't believe at this point, but every option deserves attention."

On the team's prospects:

" We have changed a lot and it takes time to create a cohesive team. However, we are growing, close to second place, and credit goes to players, staff, and coach."

On his words and not being satisfied with the season, Gerry Cardinale said:

"I will be when we win the Champions League. But not being content at a certain stage does not necessarily mean firing the coach. I believe Pioli is doing a good job in a difficult situation, with a heavily revamped team. I don't succumb to the temptation to 'fire' someone just to make a change. I say: the season is still long, anything can happen, let's see. We need to improve in many areas, with injuries for example. Everyone, starting with me, must do a better job. But I won't resign, I'll be here for a long time. No one wants to win more than me."
