At AC Milan, numerous profiles were evaluated for the centre-back reinforcement. But eventually, the club did not sign any new player in that position. Instead, they opted for a low-cost operation which was recalling Matteo Gabbia from his loan stay at Villarreal.
The defence, though, continues to struggle and it seems that the club will have to bring in a new signing in the summer transfer session, regardless of the recoveries of Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Malick Thiaw from their injuries, according to some reports.
More recently, Calciomercato.com, revealed that AC Milan scouts have set their sights on Zeno Debast, a Belgian defender of Anderlecht. He is 20 years old. The player is liked and could be one of the hot names for the summer transfer window.
The player in question is also versatile because he can also play as a midfielder in a two-man midfield department.
In fact, it was Vincent Kompany, former captain of Manchester City and the current coach of Burnley, who discovered his talent and launched him into the world of professional football.
Debast's contract runs until the summer of 2025. He is right-footed and stands at 191 centimetres tall. So far this season, he has managed to make 27 appearances between the Belgian league and cup competitions. He has played a total of 2394 minutes.
