AC Monza won against Salernitana 0-2 last night.
Daniel Maldini, on loan from Milan, scored the first goal in the 78th minute.
The club's executive, Adriano Galliani, who is also a former Milan CEO, spoke to the media on the occasion of the Serie A assembly and commented as follows:
"Monza is moving forward game by game hoping to always do better. It's the best moment, but let's remember the 51 points in 32 games from last year, because then after 6 games we had one point."
On the goals by Daniel Maldini and Matteo Pessina:
"For me, it's very romantic that the two goals against Salerno were scored by two boys, one born in Milan and the other in Monza, one raised in Milan's youth sector and the other in Monza's. For me, it's the best."
Galliani's call to Paolo Maldini...
"The first call I made was to Paolo (Maldini) and I told him. Finally, a Maldini who scores goals instead of the fullback I had before."
On the 18-club league format:
"Our position is clear. We don't understand why if the schedule has been made tighter by FIFA and UEFA competitions, our championship should suffer. For two teams that have to play more, do we have to change a format that has been going on for 20 years?"
