Matteo Gabbia, after being loaned out to Villarreal last summer, was recalled by Milan in January due to an injury crisis in defence.
Since he returned to Milanello, the young Italian centre-back has played every game and has become practically irreplaceable.
This is reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, which adds that Gabbia will also start tomorrow in the league match against Lazio: the product of Milan's youth sector will partner with Malick Thiaw.
On the eve of last Sunday's match against Atalanta, Stefano Pioli spoke about him in a press conference:
"Matteo is doing excellent things with or without Kjaer. He applies himself and wants to be in the right place at the right time. He's doing very well."
