Gerry Cardinale, as he expressed in the latest interview, wants Milan to evolve. He aims for new changes in many, if not all, the categories, including the transfer market.
As pointed out by La Gazzetta dello Sport, it's no secret that Milan plans to make a significant investment in attack, signaling a substantial change: after several years with an over-30 player like Olivier Giroud leading the Milan offensive line, the next number 9 will be under 25 years of age.
The top candidates are still the 22-year-old Dutch player Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and the 20-year-old Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
Beside that, in defence, a new addition will be necessary as the Rossoneri are conceding too many goals: potential options include 23-year-old French talent Maxence Lacroix from Wolfsburg, 24-year-old Lilian Brassier, also a French player, from Brest, and 26-year-old Englishman Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham.
The intention is to retain all key players unless absolutely irresistible offers are received, as was the case last summer with Sandro Tonali.
One wonders if the changes Gerry Cardinale refers to also encompass the managerial or strictly corporate structure. Recently, the Rossoneri club owner has officially expressed openness to the possibility of a partner from the Middle East joining the AC Milan club.
