Gianluca Di Marzio, speaking on Sky Sport Italia, talked about Stefano Pioli's future and Milan's coaching position as follows:
"It may not really be the final results that determine Pioli's future. Despite the elimination from the Champions League and the numerous injuries, he is doing well this year. Pioli deserves respect regardless of how the season ends. Then the parties will meet and need to understand, beyond how the season concludes, if both have the motivation to continue together.
A lot might depend on Ibrahimovic's word...
"At the beginning of this season, Pioli was given an even more important role with more powers. Now it needs to be understood if with Ibrahimovic arrival, the Milan coach, whether it's Pioli or not, will still have the same strength."
"The Swede is the right person to tell Cardinale whether it's advisable to continue with Pioli or not. He knows the environment and the internal dynamics of the team well. Ibra is the guarantor for Milan's future coaching position."
