Former LA Galaxy executive Jovan Kirovski is in advanced talks to join AC Milan’s front office, as per sources at The Athletic.
Kirovski hasn’t signed a deal yet. His role would be overseeing Milan’s second team.
Kirovski is a former technical director of LA Galaxy for over a decade and left last January. He is familiar with Zlatan Ibrahimovic from the Swede's time in the USA in the same club and it seems that the now-turned consultant of AC Milan and RedBird wants to hire him.
In recent years LA was hit with transfer sanctions for violating salary budget and roster guidelines during the 2019 season. Club president Chris Klein was suspended for the 2023 season and former general manager Dennis te Kloese will need to apply with the MLS commissioner’s office if he wants to have future employment with any of the league’s clubs.
During his playing career, Kirovski became the first American to win the UEFA Champions League as part of Borussia Dortmund’s squad in 1996-97. He made 62 appearances for the U.S. men’s national team and finished his playing career with the Galaxy in 2011.
