AC Milan won against Empoli 1-0, thanks to the goal of Christian Pulisic. The most important aspect was the three points which allowed the team to capitalise off Juventus' draw against Atalabta. Therefore, Milan climbed to second place in the Serie A standings with 59 points while Juventus have 58 points.
Now, however, the focus is on the Europa League fixture on Thursday, away from home, against Slavia Prague. It is the second leg fixture. The first one ended with Milan winning 4-2 at the San Siro.
Commenting on the situation of the team after the victory against Empoli, Italian journalist Manuele Baiocchini, said these words:

"Yesterday during the match against Empoli, Pioli was also thinking a bit about the Europa League challenge; we noticed it from the changes made in the second half. I'm talking about Tomori for Kalulu, Reijnders for Musah, or Pulisic to give minutes to Chukwueze. In fact, for Thursday, I expect at least 3-4 changes in AC Milan's starting lineup. It remains to be seen if Gabbia will return from the first minute; he didn't play yesterday due to a slight fatigue."
He continued to comment on Pioli's changes:
"Certainly, there will be Leao and Giroud on the field, who have been scoring in AC Milan's recent European outings. It will be a crucial match for AC Milan, which doesn't want to take risks like against Rennes but dreams and aims to continue the journey in the Europa League."
