Speaking on La Gazzetta dello Sport's YouTube channel, Lorenzo Colombo, AC Milan's loanee at AC Monza, spoke about different topics, including taking Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a role model:
"When I was at Milan, I was already big at 18. Ibra noticed and called me Hulk. While we were returning to the field after halftime, Ibra came to me and Daniel, and said, 'We sent you here on loan to play, and you're on the bench'... Then I came in and scored. Ibrahimovic is a teammate who gives you a lot emotionally, in my opinion. He raises the level for everyone. He always pushes you to do more. He never makes you feel like you've done enough, meaning he's always ready to push you, to stay behind you, if you make a mistake you have to react immediately. Such a figure is felt, gives a lot to the team, to the environment."
On AC Milan, Colombo said:
"My journey at Milan was fundamental for my growth as a player, as a man, as everything. I owe everything to Milan, truly, it's my second home. I had been working so hard for this goal, it had been a few months since I last scored. It was very important for me as a demonstration of the work I had been doing. I didn't celebrate as a sign of gratitude. What I think is too important is this sense of gratitude towards Milan, towards the club it represents, towards the history of this club. I believe it is too important to have values and to carry them in the things you do. Respect, in this case, for those who raised me, who in this case gave me so much, etc."
First goal in the red and black jersey:
"Probably the best moment with Milan was my first goal, in the Europa League preliminaries against Bodo Glimt. We all did Covid tests, Ibra tested positive and obviously he had to start. The doctor ran onto the field while we were doing the warm-up and took him out of training. At that point, Pioli came to me and told me I would start that evening. Initially, I was a bit tense, getting closer to the match was also difficult to manage since it was one of my first times with the seniors, my first time starting, so I couldn't rest, I constantly had the thought of the match in my head. I played and I also scored my first goal. The only thing that disappointed me was that the stadium was empty, but I still remember an emotion, an incredible adrenaline rush. I let out a terrible scream (laughs). Scoring with the team that raised me, after all the journey, cannot be explained."
Colombo also spoke highly of Adriano Galliani, the current Monza executive:
"Galliani is a great person. He has incredible energy and he transmits this energy to the whole environment. I owe a lot to the boss because he wanted me strongly, he pushed hard to have me, I will thank him forever. He tried to convince me in a way to accept Monza rather than staying at Milan, telling me about what Monza is, a club formed by prepared people, with top club facilities, and indeed that's what I found."
