AC Milan's English centre-back, Fikayo Tomori, has accompanied Stefano Pioli in the press conference this evening ahead of tomorrow's Europa League second leg fixture of round of 16 against Slavia Prague (the first leg ended in a 4-2 win at the San Siro for the Rossoneri).
Here are the statements of the former Chelsea player to the media:
"My feeling after the injury? I feel good, I'm happy to be back on the field. We work every day, every match to put in a good performance, to win the game. It will be the same tomorrow. I want to give what I can. I'm a defender, I try to help the team defensively and tomorrow will be the same. It will be a very hot atmosphere tomorrow, so we have to be ready... Not just me, but the whole team."
On the group:
"We have a good group, I try to be happy on the field and give support to the team. After two months, being on the field is a good thing."
What does Milan need to do to improve? Tomori said:
"We have conceded a lot of goals, there are periods in the season where we don't perform as we want, but we are working every day to improve. Tomorrow night, we focus on the defensive phase and hurt them going forward."
Are there players who have replaced you well?
"We have had several players in the centre-back role. There are players who want to help the team. There are not only 2-3 center-backs but also Theo, Gabbia is doing well, Kalulu, Kajer, and Thiaw."
Milan is obliged to win the Europa League:
"At the beginning of the season, we wanted to win every match. The goal is to finish as high as possible in the league rankings. In Europe, however, it's about winning game by game, starting from tomorrow's challenge, to go as far as possible."
