AC Milan won in Verona against Hellas yesterday afternoon: a 3-1 victory with goals from Theo, Pulisic, and Chukwueze, which was essentially one-sided and allowed Stefano Pioli's team to extend their lead over Juventus, who are now trailing by 3 points.
Arrigo Sacchi commented on this performance and said these words to La Gazzetta dello Sport, as usual:
"The Rossoneri's success was clear, but some things need to be corrected if they want to achieve their goals. Pioli's team, at times during the match, was too stretched out. The defensive phase is not always impeccable, partly because the midfield provides little cover and the attackers contribute little defensively."
Sacchi added:
"The issue is fundamental: this way, defenders are often exposed to one-on-one situations and can struggle. The objective should be to have a compact team, so everyone helps each other and collaborates. If a player is forty or fifty meters away from where the action is taking place, it's as if they're not even there."
