AC Milan will want to reinforce the attack in the summer transfer window, but also the defence. Strengthening the squad is a must in order to improve the quality of the performances in the league and also in Europe. In addition to that, the club must also protect its interest by keeping key players at Milanello for as long as possible.
Among the important figures at AC Milan, there is Theo Hernandez, who is surely in the discussion for the best left-back in the world. His contract with the Rossoneri runs until the summer of 2026 and he is very happy at Milan. There is interest in him from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, however. For this reason, according to what is told by Il Corriere dello Sport in this morning's print edition, the directors will try to renew his deal to make it last until 2029. With an extension, there will also be an increase to the salary of the Frenchman (currently set at 4.5 million euros), logically.
The number one threat today is called Bayern Munich. The Bavarians are widely seen as a possible contender because most likely between this summer and next they will lose Alphonso Davies, who could move to Real Madrid: the Canadian's contract expires in 2025, and he doesn't seem inclined to renew with the German club.
Theo is a tempting idea for them, proving that he has become one of the best full-backs in the world. Milan, while awaiting the desired renewal, will protect themselves by setting a ceiling of 100 million euros as the minimum offer to be able to sign the French full-back: a move almost sure to discourage potential suitors. At the same time, however, the player could be tempted by Bayern's offers: if the German club approaches Theo and offers him a contract worth 8 to 10 million euros per season, it would be difficult to refuse. What is certain for now, however, is that Theo is happy at Milan and there are no issues of any kind.
