The future of Stefano Pioli could still be at Milan. After Scaronie's words before the match against Fiorentina ("Pioli stays, I've always said that. I like those who win and Pioli is doing well"), the future of the Rossoneri coach himself, could remain unchanged.
Michele Criscitiello of SportItalia, a well-known journalist, has expressed his opinion on the matter and would not agree with Stefano Pioli's confirmation.
Here are his words, as relayed via Pianeta Milan:
"Milan continues to journey through this end of the season. It's a pity that it's too late for the title, but not too late to make a mark in Europe's second tier. The club publicly renews its trust in Pioli. Despite this good ending, Milan deserves to fight for the title every year, and this year they exited the race too early and too soon from the Champions League. Pioli is an excellent coach who has given everything to Milan and has grown tremendously with this club. However, if you want to grow, you have to have the courage to raise the bar. In business and market choices. Milan is a great club with great executives; ambition should not be frightening. Pioli has done his utmost, and beyond that, there isn't much more. The great ending should not deceive because this team needs 3, maybe 4, top players and needs a great leader to bring the winning mentality that has always belonged to the Rossoneri DNA."
