In the lengthy interview granted to the microphones of the Belgian portal Hln.be, Charles De Ketelaere talked about his experience in Serie A with Milan, and Atalanta this season as well as his future. Here are his words, as relayed via Pianeta Milan:
"Last season with Milan being disappointing? It was like that at that time. And now, a year later, I'm happy where I am. I learned a lot from that tough year at Milan. It helped me take certain steps forward and it will still help me. From a good season, you learn a lot, but from less good seasons, you learn even more."
The buyout option in your contract is 23 million euros. Is that correct?
"Yes. But only Atalanta can exercise this option. They decide. I don't have much to say about it."
But if it were up to you, would you stay at Atalanta? De Ketelaere responded:
"Yes, because I feel very good here. I would like to stay. Also, because I haven't finished here after one season. I can still take a couple of nice steps forward. So it would definitely be positive if I could stay here for another couple of seasons."
