Journalist Claudio Raimondi gives an update on AC Milan's bench after last night's defeat, and the consequent elimination from the Europa League, against Roma.
Here are his statements via SportMediaset:
"The Rossoneri returned last night and underwent a recovery session. Let's start off by saying that Pioli is not at risk of being sacked immediately, but he is increasingly alone because today, no executives were present here at the Rossoneri sports center. Moncada accompanied the Primavera team engaged in the Youth League tonight. Ibrahimovic was not seen, although he is in close contact with Cardinale. Furlani was at the Rossoneri headquarters. There are no immediate upheavals in sight for the derby, but the focus is on the future. The hot name, increasingly hot, is that of Julen Lopetegui. The former Spanish national team coach is currently the strong name."
The journalist continued to talk about AC Milan's situation:
"Attention, however, is also drawn to Thiago Motta, who is always very liked by the Rossoneri management. As for Antonio Conte, Napoli is serious and has offered a three-year contract. Conte is waiting for moves that have not yet come from Milan. But, it is clear and evident that if a dramatic blow were to occur, a debacle even in the derby, then yes, Pioli's position could be at risk immediately. There could be a bridging solution, a transitional one: the promotion of Primavera coach Abate for the remaining five matches to avoid jeopardising even the second position."
