Stefano Scacchi, a journalist for the Italian newspapers Tuttosport and La Stampa spoke to calciomercato.it about Giroud's possible successor at AC Milan for next season.
Here are his words:
"Timo Werner could be an option, he has similar characteristics to Giroud. He has the ability to play as a target man and has some experience at certain levels. He makes others play well, but there are clearly doubts given the not so positive last seasons."
The 28-year-old centre-forward currently plies his trade for Tottenham, on loan from RB Leipzig. His contract runs until the summer of 2026. So far this season, he only managed to score 2 goals and 3 assists in 12 matches with the Premier League club. He also played 8 matches this season with RB Leipzig where he scored twice in the league.
