Sports journalist Alfredo Pedullà, from 'SportItalia', provided an update on Thiago Motta, a coach whose contract with Bologna will expire on June 30th.
Recent transfer market rumors have seen both Milan and Juventus vying for his management position starting from the 2024-2025 season.
Here are Pedullà's statements on the matter.
"From my perspective, Juventus decided back in January to change their coaching staff at the end of the season and to focus on Thiago Motta. There is no room for the renewal of Thiago Motta's contract with Bologna, despite recent rumors and despite Bologna's hopeful stance. But there is no room for maneuver. Likewise, there is no room for maneuver for him to end up at Milan", Pedullà clarified.
Pedullà continued to discuss Thiago Motta's future:
"Today, the situation stands as follows: we only have to wait for the technical timings: for Juventus to qualify for the Champions League, to play in the Coppa Italia final, and for Motta to finish his work. But everything that needs to happen will happen. Bologna is not contacting other coaches, but they are considering another coach. And Milan knows that, after studying Motta in October and November, they have no room for maneuver regarding him today."
