Ignazio Abate is about to conclude his third year as a coach in the youth academy of Milan, where he has always achieved some important results: national championship finals with the Allievi in '21-22, Youth League semifinals with the Primavera in '22-23, and a final this year in the same UEFA competition.
Among his main merits is certainly that of having nurtured several young talents who have already made appearances in the first team, such as Jan-Carlo Simic, Davide Bartesaghi, Kevin Zeroli, and obviously Francesco Camarda. But what will his future hold, considering his contract with the club expires in June?
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport's website, in the upcoming weeks, Abate will have a meeting with the club management to understand what plans they have for him.
There are different scenarios: he could remain in charge of the Primavera; the former full-back is also in contention for the coaching position of the Under 23 team, although Daniele Bonera seems to be the favourite; finally, it is not excluded that the young coach may have his own ambitions and could consider some offers that may come his way to coach a senior team.
