During the 'Campo Aperto' broadcast on Sky Sport 24, journalist Luca Marchetti provided an update on the future of the AC Milan bench.
Here are his statements.
"New coach for Milan? We are at the point where a definitive decision has not yet been made. These profiles you mentioned are still under evaluation. The hottest names are Fonseca and Conceiçao. As of today, from what we understand, there have been more in-depth discussions with Conceiçao compared to Fonseca. The Portuguese from Porto is the one they want to delve deeper with, not just in terms of financial agreement, of course, which comes almost last when talking to coaches because first, we try to understand compatibility with the environment, personal qualities."
The journalist continued to talk about the coaches who are linked to Milan:
"They are both Portuguese, and this is already a common trait. It's not that the Milan coach will necessarily be Portuguese, but Fonseca knows the Italian league because he has coached here (Roma). Sergio Conceiçao knows it because he has played here (with Inter), so he may have an advantage from this. Surely, the development of the club will also need to be discussed. Milan needs a coach who, beyond the technical skills, is very close to the club's development ideas along with the management. So a coach who can take charge of the team's technical situation, to allow Milan the development that Gerry Cardinale envisions. So the search for players worldwide, capable of growing with Milan, capable of trading alongside them, but in trading, achieving goals that can drive Milan to be even more competitive, both in Italy and naturally in Europe."
