Urbano Cairo, Torino's president, spoke about Alessandro Buongiorno to the media just recently. He confirmed that the player is too important for him and would like to keep him in the team:
"The core must be kept, if he stays, I am happy."
Buongiorno is tempting for many. Already during the past winter, when Milan tried to make concrete moves, Cairo stood firm and avoided making a sale. In the summer, though, there may be interest from other clubs. The centre-back is indeed still on the radar of the Rossoneri, but Inter and Napoli could also be interested in reinforcing their respective defensive lines.
Much will depend on Torino's valuation of their player. In winter, Cairo set the bar very high, around 40 million euros. This figure was justified not only by the player's excellent performances but evidently also by the desire not to let him go. Today, however - though it's not certain - this figure could still be considered too high by interested clubs. A slight discount could be enough to change things, as pointed out by Milan News.
