Malick Thiaw spoke to Sky Sport Italia today as well (read his previous interview here). Here are his words:
"We have changed a lot compared to last year and new players have arrived in the team. In the Europa League, we should have done better, but now we have to keep working and see what we can improve for next year. I want to stay. Playing for Milan is a privilege."
On the fans' protest, he said:
"The lack of support made the last two games at San Siro different, but our fans love this club very much, and sometimes this can happen. There is some frustration when things don't go well, but it all stems from the love for the club, and for this reason, we can understand them. We didn't achieve the goals we had set for ourselves, so it's right to accept the message the fans have sent us."
A special season and the first major injury...
"I can do better, it's something from which I can learn, grow mentally and physically. When things don't go the way you want, you can always draw lessons from them. You shouldn't get down, you have to move on and try to do better. In football, the most important thing is to be available. If you're not, you can't improve, and you can't make your mark on the field. The most important thing for me is to be in good health next season and to continue improving on the field. It was my first major injury, I didn't know how to come out of it. I thought it would be easier, but I was out for 3 months. Now I'm fine."
On saying goodbye to Olivier Giroud and Simon Kjaer, Thiaw offered these words:
"I will say goodbye to Olivier with great respect and affection, he is a gentleman and has always been an example for all of us. The same goes for Simon, he has given me useful advice many times, and I thank him very much for that."
