Milan has been working for months on Joshua Zirkzee, well aware of the contractual and pricing conditions of the Dutch striker from Bologna.
There is a release clause of 40 million euros present in Zirkzee's contract. At Casa Milan, they consider the striker as the right one to inherit Olivier Giroud's role, albeit with different technical characteristics from the Frenchman.
As per MilanNews, the club has chosen Zirkzee months ago and has been working on this front for months, strong and aware of the maximum price for which Joshua can leave Bologna. With the Emilian club, there's also the buy-back clause for Alexis Saelemaekers, set at 12 million euros plus the 1 million euros received in the summer for the loan, and there's the intention to use it as a partial economic counterpart to lower the cash side of Zirkzee, as well as they'll try to include Lorenzo Colombo.
It is a work in progress, with the goal of closing a significant transfer for the offensive department in the upcoming summer transfer window.
