Milan Women's player Laura Fusetti will play her last match as a footballer tomorrow, but she will not leave the world of football or the Rossoneri club. Starting next year, she will be the new team manager of the women's Primavera team. Below is the club's statement with the details:
Before tomorrow's game at the PUMA House of Football between AC Milan and Sampdoria (tickets HERE), the final fixture of the season, Laura Fusetti will receive a special farewell as she retires from the game.
The number 6 shirt on her back, determination on the pitch and great professionalism: this is Laura Fusetti, who has been with the Rossonere since the AC Milan Women's First Team was formed in the 2018/19 season. It's a journey that has spanned six seasons with 135 appearances under her belt, including tomorrow's. She has always represented the Club's colours with passion and made herself available to her teammates and staff.
Laura is an AC Milan icon. She was the first footballer to reach 100 appearances, on 7 May 2022, in the 3-0 derby win. She was one of the athletes who grew along with the team, becoming, across the seasons, one of the reference points for young and foreign players to whom she managed to convey the value of the Rossonere colours and the shirt which has so often been worn with pride.
The time has come for Laura to say goodbye to football and her playing career. But it is not a farewell to the Club as Fusetti will become the new Women's Primavera team manager from the 2024/25 season, a role she will tackle with the same passion. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow, at the PUMA House of Football from 17:30 CEST, to celebrate our number 6."
