The season finale is approaching for Milan, and along with it, news about the choice of Stefano Pioli's successor should arrive.
At the end of this year, Stefano Pioli will leave the Rossoneri bench after almost five years. First, the official announcement of the tactician's departure should come, and immediately afterward, the new Rossoneri coach should be announced. It is still unclear, however, who will take the bench, although it seems that the extensive casting of recent weeks has been narrowed down to just two names: Paulo Fonseca and Mark Van Bommel.
According to what is reported by Tuttosport in this morning's print edition, it is a two-man race between the Portuguese and Dutch coaches for the Milan job.
As per the source, club has already decided on the name of the next coach. It will be made official at the end of the season.
Regarding the two candidates specifically, Lille would like to keep the Portuguese coach, who is tempted by the Rossoneri option. Then, the Dutchman is highly regarded as well.
As for Roberto De Zerbi, who has left Brighton and is free from any contract, there are no updates: the coach does not see himself on in an Italian club.
