AC Milan are set to part company with their current head coach, Stefano Pioli.
As per Milan News journalist Antonio Vitiello, official announcements regarding the separation between the Italian coach and the Rossoneri club are expected before the match against Salernitana, which Milan will play on Saturday at 8:45 PM CEST at San Siro, the last game of the season.
This news has been circulating for days, if not weeks, and comes alongside the recent official announcements of Olivier Giroud and Simon Kjaer's departures from the club. For all three 2022 Scudetto heroes, it will be time for goodbyes.
According to the source, negotiations have been ongoing for several days between Pioli's entourage, the coach himself, and the Milan management regarding his departure from the club.
The former Inter and Fiorentina boss has one more year left on his contract. The club, however, is trying to seek an agreement for a mutual termination.
Certainly, though, Saturday will be Stefano Pioli's last match on the Rossoneri bench, but at least the official announcements expected before the match will allow the coach to receive the proper tribute from the fans after nearly five years in which he managed to bring Milan back among the greats of Italy and even to new heights in the European stage.
Stefano Pioli will bid farewell with the memory of a beautiful Scudetto and as the seventh most present coach in Rossoneri history.
