This afternoon, directly from Spain, the newspaper Marca reported that Theo Hernandez was very close to joining Bayern Munich (read here). However, there is nothing close to such a thing happening, it seems. In fact, the French full-back is indeed highly regarded by Bayern Munich, who see him as a potential successor to Alphonso Davies if the latter were to be sold to Real Madrid, but there is currently no ongoing negotiation.
Confirmations arrived from the journalist of Sky Sport DE, Florian Plettenberg, who shared the following update:
The 26-year-old left back remains a top target for FC Bayern in case Alphonso Davies leaves Bayern Munich. Theo has signaled that he would be willing to join Bayern in summer.
Nothing, however, has changed. No total verbal agreement with Hernández. There are no negotiations between the clubs and no offer was sent from Bayern yet.
