With Olivier Giroud's farewell, who will be joining Los Angeles FC after the Euro championship, Milan must rethink its plans regarding the center-forward position. Surely, they will intervene in the market, with the most significant investment being destined for the new number 9.
In this sense, the favorite is Joshua Zirkzee, who has a release clause of 40 million euros, but also faces fierce competition from Juventus and Arsenal as primary rivals. Then there's also the role of the vice center-forward to clarify.
In this regard, Milan wants to capitalise on the raw material it already has at home: Luka Jovic. The Serbian forward, who arrived at the last moment of the previous transfer window from Fiorentina, had a very rough start to his adventure in the Rossoneri colours. However, after his first goal in December, things changed. Starting as the twelfth man, Jovic nearly reached double figures in goals scored, stopping at 9. He often proved decisive and managed to replace Giroud well, especially without creating any kind of problems.
For this reason, Milan is ready to extend his contract for another 12 months, as provided for in the contract signed at the end of August, as told by La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition.
