Rafael Leao, a Portuguese talent owned by Milan currently engaged with his national team at EURO 2024, spoke at a press conference ahead of tomorrow night's match against Turkey. Here are his statements.
On his Euro cup journey so far:
"I prepared myself mentally because the European Championship has always been a goal and a dream. Competing with the National Team jersey is a source of pride. I am enjoying great players, with a great coach, and my goal is to have a great campaign collectively and also individually."
On Portugal's squad, Leao said:
"We have great players, of course, I want to be a starter and help the team. Every time I step onto the field, I try to show why I am a starter, and what I have shown at my club is what I have shown with the National Team. The atmosphere has always been good. There is a lot of connection between the young and the old players, and this also translates into the game. I think this makes the difference, and I believe we are a very strong group on and off the field."
On the Turkish national team:
"Hakan Calhanoglu makes a difference, I played with him at Milan and he has a lot of quality, he shoots well and is dangerous, then there is Guler, who plays for Real Madrid and at his age can already make a difference, and also Yılmaz."
