Joshua Zirkzee is the top candidate to take on the role of Milan's number 9 next season. However, if he does not arrive, six alternatives are emerging for the next summer transfer window.
The latest information on this matter was provided by the newspaper 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' in this morning's edition. According to the report, the Dutchman remains the first name on the Rossoneri management's list, although he has informed his agent, Kia Joorabchian, that he will make a decision about his future only after the 2024 European Championship. Nevertheless, the club has several backup plans and will explore different options if the deal does not materialise.
The first alternative is Jonathan David, who has been followed for some time and has already worked with Paulo Fonseca at Lille until recently. He would also guarantee a certain scoring continuity. Another name is Samu Omorodion, who poses a question mark regarding goals, having scored 8 for Alaves, but is three years younger than Joshua Zirkzee. Also in the background is Romelu Lukaku, who, however, has a connection with Antonio Conte, the new Napoli head coach.
The options of Armando Broja and Artem Dovbyk should not be underestimated, along with the possibility of focusing on Luka Jovic.
