Just a few days after Italy's bitter elimination from Euro 2024 competition, the transfer market brings news of yet another exodus of Italian talents to foreign teams.
According to what has been reported by the daily Turin-based newspaper, Tuttosport, in this morning's print edition, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich as well as Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen have secured three of the most interesting and promising Italian talents currently available: Delle Rovere, Pià, and Natali.
This can be considered a true 'brain drain', which Milan has no intention of participating in. At Milanello, young players are cherished and secured, as will soon be confirmed with various official announcements in the coming weeks.
For the past year, in fact, it seems that Milan has been locking down the talents showcased in its youth sector. Needless to say, the most anticipated official announcement is that of Francesco Camarda, who will be rewarded by the club for his excellent results over the years with his first professional contract.
The young forward, born in 2008, is just the latest piece in a long phase of negotiations that have seen talents like Kevin Zeroli (2028), Davide Bartesaghi (2025) - already in the first-team setup - Diego Sia, and Emanuele Sala, among others, tied to Milan. The investments made in the youth sector are bearing fruit, and the 5 million euros spent in recent weeks to make former Real Madrid fullback Alex Jimenez a Rossoneri only further confirms this.
AC Milan management places great faith in its young players, and the birth of the 'Milan Futuro' project demonstrates this. The U23 team will compete in Serie C's Group B next year. With this new team, the club's objective is clear: to train young champions who can one day bear the weight of the Milan jersey once they become regular members of the first team.
The hope is that this will happen, and at Casa Milan, there is particular confidence, especially since Vincenzo Vergine, one of the best executives in youth football, is in charge of this ambitious project.
