UEFA have officially released their latest rendition of their club rankings. The club coefficients are derived from recent results and performances from competing clubs across Champions League, Europa League and Conference league competitions.
Milan come in at 22 in the recent ranking. They sit behind Roma, Inter, Atalanta and Napoli in terms of Italian clubs in the rankings. The 8 clubs from Italy competing in European competitions this season ranked in the following positions:
5. Roma
10. Inter
20. Atalanta
21. Napoli
22. Milan
23. Juventus
31. Lazio
36. Fiorentina
89. Bologna
The rankings are derived from results of the last 5 seasons. Milan was only able to realize 4 years worth of points in last season's rankings due to no European competition qualification in the 19/20 season. This will be the first season in some time the Rossoneri will receive points from the full 5 seasons worth of data.
The rankings impact the seeding and pots in relevant UEFA competition draws. Consistent qualification and success in European competitions will see Milan climbing the rankings in years to come.
