It took much longer than expected, but in the next few hours, Milan could finally have its new number 9. After Olivier Giroud announced his departure in mid-May, Rossoneri fans expected the club to move promptly in the market and secure the new forward as soon as possible. This did not happen, with the main target Zirkzee ending up at United. However, Alvaro Morata is expected to break this "fast" for the Rossoneri in the market in the next few hours.

For about a week, since Manchester United accelerated for Zirkzee and consequently Zlatan Ibrahimovic defined him as the "past," the number one target for the Rossoneri's attack has been Alvaro Morata. The Spanish forward, captain of the national team, who tonight at 9 PM in Berlin will face Harry Kane's England for the European Championship victory, has been at odds with Atletico Madrid for a few months as they no longer guaranteed him the required playing time. Thus, Milan will exploit the 13 million clause to bring him back to Italy. In recent days, contacts between the Rossoneri club and the player's entourage have been continuous. According to the Corriere dello Sport, tomorrow Morata will accept Milan's proposal by informing Atletico of his desire to transfer. The Rossoneri and the Spaniard will be tied for the next four years.

Despite the positive outcome of the Morata negotiation, Milan intends to close the deal for another forward during the market. They are looking for a player with characteristics complementary to both the Spaniard and Luka Jovic. In recent hours, the Rossoneri club has made contact with Borussia Dortmund for Niclas Fullkrug, a 31-year-old German national team forward. The forward would bring experience and has informed his agents that he is open to the possibility of leaving Dortmund, which could happen due to the possible arrival of Guirassy in the yellow and black team. Given his age, the Rossoneri hope to pay less than 20 million for him. In the background, there remains the option of Tammy Abraham, younger and already accustomed to Serie A but more expensive. Therefore, the possible inclusion of a counterpart like Alexis Saelemaekers is being considered.

This was relayed via Milan News.
