Paulo Fonseca can return to Milan with some technical insights to work on after yesterday's pre-season friendly against Rapid Vienna, leaving the management the task of providing him with at least two more reinforcements in this transfer market after the recent official arrival of Álvaro Morata.
While waiting to discover who will be the "second" striker for this season, Milan aims to finalise talks for Strahinja Pavlović and Youssouf Fofana this week, two key pieces to complete the Portuguese coach’s puzzle.
Milan is pushing for Strahinja Pavlović, as is the Serbian defender with Red Bull Salzburg, to whom he has already communicated his desire to move to the Rossoneri during this transfer market.
Currently, there is still a gap between the parties, but the advanced state of the negotiations suggests that Milan might close the deal for Pavlović within this week. Initially asking for 30 million euros, Salzburg has immediately reduced the price to 25 million euros, while Milan has not gone beyond 18 million euros plus bonuses for a total of 20 million euros. The gap exists but is not enormous, with Tuttosport suggesting the possibility of closing the deal somewhere in between, around 22 million euros. We’ll see.
