AC Milan's head coach, Paulo Fonseca, has spoken to the media in the press conference after the friendly match against FC Barcelona in Baltimore. Here are the statements, as relayed via our correspondent directly from there, Francisco Alonzo who asked him this following question about Torriani's summer and overall outlook on youth players:
"What can I say? Just amazing things. The goalkeeper? I have no words for him... Sportiello got an injury in the hotel. He played his games with big personality, big character, big courage. It's too early. But I have no doubt we have a goalkeeper for the future. This kid will have a bright future."
Second question, also from Francisco Alonzo for Milan Reports: why didn't Francesco Camarda play today?
"Because we need to give more minutes to the other players."
Thoughts on the city of Baltimore and this stadium? Did you enjoy your time?
"The stadium, the atmosphere were amazing. Like in the other games, in the USA, you create an amazing atmosphere for games. It was really nice to have these feelings, I cannot speak too much about the city because we enter the hotel and we just leave to come here. I hope one day I can return with time to know the city."
Christian Pulisic, what does he bring to AC Milan?
"For me, he did an amazing game. I like him in that position, with big participation. What he brings to Milan? It's the second year, in the last campaign, he did a great season, and he'll continue to be an important player in the team. I have no doubts about this."
What are the aspirations for the new season? Fonseca answered:
"To win the Scudetto."
Your thoughts about FC Barcelona
"I said to the players before the game, for me, in these moments, many young kids with big quality, I think with a good attention, good offensive ideas, very well done from the players; it was difficult for us, the most difficult game from these three games, it was today against Barcelona."
Fonseca on the USA tour:
"I think if we make a balance from these days, I think it's very very positive, it's important to win, more so against these kind of teams because it brings confidence to the players. But, I'm more satisfied with the players, with our work, the way they work, the way the play, the courage they put in the pitch every day. I'm really happy because also they work with open mind... In four weeks, it's not easy and we did it because the players were amazing in these four weeks. So it's very positive, very good feelings, we have so many things to improve but we are taking the right steps, in my opinion."
Fonseca on the use of certain players like Christian Pulisic:
"We need to give time to Pulisic and Musah. As for Pulisic, he played like a number 10. In the second half, we started without a striker, we played with two numbers 10s, Pulisic and Loftus. I have to confess, he (Pulisic) can make it into every position in attack. He's a player who is very intelligent, I think to play in this zone of this pitch, he has big participation, but I like to see Christian there."
