Paulo Fonseca is a fan of English striker Tammy Abraham, who currently plies his trade for Serie A side AS Roma.
The possibility of signing him, however, might not materialise for two main reasons. First, for Abraham to join Milan's squad, a forward would need to leave, specifically Luka Jović. Jović, however, has scored two goals in the last two friendly matches against Barcelona and Monza, surprising Fonseca, as admitted by the Portuguese coach himself.
Moreover, Jović seems far from willing to leave Milan, as evidenced by taking on the number 9 shirt just recently. Additionally, Milan would like to acquire Abraham from Roma under favourable terms, perhaps a loan with an option to buy. After all, the English player has been inactive for a long period due to injury, and the Rossoneri would like to test him on the field before committing financially to his transfer, as told by Pianeta Milan.
But AS Roma club maangement has a different stance. They spent a lot to buy Enzo Le Fée, Matías Soulé, and especially Artem Dovbyk. Therefore, now, they want to make some revenue, possibly by seeling Tammy Abraham's card to the highest bidder.
As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Premier League side West Ham are indeed interested in Abraham. The 'Hammers', who acquired Niclas Füllkrug from Borussia Dortmund for 30 million euros just over a week ago, are looking for another striker and have their eyes on Abraham. No official offer has been made yet, but Roma hopes to receive one, around 30 million euros, to secure the funds needed to finalise the signing of right-back Lorenz Assignon from Rennes.
Roma would also be willing to accept an offer from West Ham around 25 million euros plus 5 million in bonuses. Everton and Bournemouth are reportedly interested in the former Chelsea striker as well.
