Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Senior Advisor at RedBird at Milan, spoke to DAZN before the Parma - Milan match.
Here are his statements.
Do you still feel like playing?
"That's in the past now. Since I stopped, that feeling has passed."
Have you achieved all your market goals? You’ve bought players with personality:
"It's true. We have brought in players with character who add something extra, even from a human perspective. The team is young, and they bring something more. We felt this was missing last year. We hope everything goes well today."
Is the incoming market closed? Ibrahimovic replied:
"We’ve doubled up positions on the field. Don't forget that we have Milan Futuro. If we bring in too many players, we’ll block the young ones. We believe in the young players; we're not afraid to push them and put them on the field. They need to be ready, but that's our responsibility. The team is complete; we're at day six out of seven, so we’ll see what happens."
Do you try to talk to the young players a lot?
"It requires balance. One day you hug them, the next day you put pressure on them. It’s part of the process, both on and off the field. When they come in, they shouldn't take a step back. When they're ready, they come in."
Alvaro Morata traveled with the team today despite the injury. Is he a leader like you were? Ibrahimovic replied:
"He's still young; I was old. He is one of the leaders; he came to provide support. That's important. The team is young. Morata has great experience, both mentally and on the field."
