The former head of the technical area and sporting director of Milan, now at Padova, Massimiliano Mirabelli, gave an interview to Libero in which he talked about the Rossoneri club and its current situation.
Here are his statements:
"Why isn’t Milan picking up points? The cause can be traced back to Pioli’s departure. It’s understandable to think a cycle has ended and that especially, a second place is unsatisfactory, but at that point, one should sit at the table, clarify roles within the club, look for a better coach, and make a transfer market that matches the ambition. Fonseca? I respect him but I return to the previous discussion: if you decide to part ways with Pioli, who achieved such important results in three years, you should go for a top-level coach. Got the idea?"

Mirabelli continues:
"Napoli made their best acquisition by choosing a top-class tactician, Conte. Inter objectively has the best team: the secret was creating two teams, or having duplicates in every role. Inzaghi has interchangeable pieces in specific areas of the field, and Juventus is following a similar path with an excellent coach. I don’t see Milan on this path."
On Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mirabelli said:
"He was one of the most incredible players in history, but now he no longer plays and few understand his current role: owner’s consultant? Market man? He decides everything? But exactly what? The transfer market? Incomplete. If you turn the page and try to move from second to first, you need to act differently, make very different choices. Fofana? Excellent player but I’m not sure if that's enough. Morata? I was looking for him too..."
