Despite the summer transfer window just closing, Milan is already looking ahead to January, and one of the hot names is undoubtedly Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis. This is not just any profile but a player who has been closely monitored by Milan technical area director Geoffrey Moncada on several occasions.
The Rossoneri had wanted to sign him in the summer transfer window, but the arrival of Youssouf Fofana effectively closed the doors to Milanello for him. There has been an important development, however: Ismael Bennacer is injured and will be absent for around 4 months, which could open up interesting scenarios for the winter transfer window.
Two names are currently being considered by the Milan club management: Johnny Cardoso on one side and Carney Chukwuemeka on the other. However, caution is needed with Cardoso due to strong competition.
According to 'GIVEMESPORT, and relayed via 'Pianeta Milan', the Rossoneri club is not the only one interested in the American player. In fact, Tottenham, from the Premier League, is also reportedly very interested.
Milan, it will be a tough race for Johnny Cardoso...
Additionally, the English club are said to have secured some form of priority for the 22-year-old American player in case of offers from other clubs. This could significantly complicate Milan's plans.
